Exciting season ahead as 2008 fixtures finalised for footballers and hurlers The full GAA master fixtures list for 2008 has been published this week. The full list was revealed on Tuesday and it includes the provincial championship fixtures.    The National Football League Division 2 campaign will begin on Sunday, February 3rd for the Roscommon footballers when they travel to take on Monaghan away from home.   Two weeks later (17th February) Roscommon are at home to Meath. On Sunday, 2nd March, Roscommon have another home game, this time against Cork.    On Sunday, 16th March, Roscommon travel to play Armagh and two weeks later (March 30th) it’s Westmeath who travel to play Roscommon. There is less than a week of a break to the next fixture, a floodlit game away to Dublin in Parnell Park on Saturday, 5th April.   Roscommon’s final Division 2 game will be on April 13th, at home to Cavan.   In the Connacht Championship, the Connacht SFC will begin in May, when Leitrim play New York on the 11th May.    Roscommon will play Galway in the first round (in Pearse Stadium) on Sunday, May 18th. The winners of that game will play Leitrim or New York in the Connacht semi-final on the 15th of June.    The Connacht SFC final in 2008 will be on July 13th. The All-Ireland Football Championship qualifiers will begin on July 19th (a Saturday).    In hurling, Roscommon will begin their National League campaign in Division 2A with a game against Kildare on February 10th. David McConn’s men will be in action again on February 17th, away to Westmeath.      Roscommon are at home to Kerry on March 9th and then Roscommon play Mayo away on the 15th March (a Saturday). On the 23rd of March (Easter Sunday), Roscommon play Wicklow away in their final group game.   In the Championship, Roscommon play their first game in the Christy Ring Cup, away to Westmeath, on the 28th June. On the 5th of July Roscommon are at home to Wicklow. The top two teams from that group will progress to the next round.
