St. Coman’s duo Fiona Tully and Lauren O’Riordan were involved in intermediate and senior doubles action last weekend.
They started with a 21-6, 21-6 win over Niamh Dunne and Ciara Dowling in their All-Ireland 40×20 Intermediate Doubles semi-final in Laois last Friday.
They were then convincingly beaten in their All-Ireland Senior semi-final by Cork’s Catriona Casey and Aisling O’Keefe on Saturday in Cavan on score of 21-14, 21-4. The Cork girls taking advantage of an injury to Lauren O’Riordan in the second game.
Elsewhere, Curraghboy’s Philip O’Connor and Paul Kelly beat Kilkenny’s John Morrissey and Noel Doherty in their Over 35 ‘B’ semi-final on scoreline of 21-16, 21-6.
It was disappointment for another Curraghboy duo last weekend, however, as Cormac O’Brien and Ger Walshe crashed out of the All-Ireland Golden Masters at the semi-final stage following a 21-7, 21-12 defeat at the hands of Westmeath’s Robbie McCarthy Snr and Mike Naughton.
