Roscommon had four competitors at the inaugural Onewall tournament in Annaghdown, Co. Galway last weekend, all of whom did well.
Fionn Cusack won the U-17 grade when he beat clubmate Magomed Yakhyaev 18-9 in the final.
Philip Halliday won the U-15 Plate while young Irslam Yakhyaev was unlucky to be drawn against Inverinn’s Feilim O’Dioluin in the second round of the U-11 competition. They were the two outstanding players in that grade and their match would have made a fitting final. It was O’Dioluin’s more conservative approach which won a game that could have gone either way. The Galway lad won 13-10.
