Handball – All-Ireland Champions!

Fiona Tully is the 40×20 Ladies Intermediate All-Ireland Champion once again after a comprehensive win over Clare’s Clodagh Nash in Kingscourt last Saturday.

Fiona’s match turned out to be a very one-sided affair, with the St. Coman’s star simply on a different level to her opponent. Tully sealed the title on a 21-3, 21-4 scoreline.

It has been a great first year out of the underage ranks for Fiona and the next target will be moving to the top of the senior ladder which is definitely achievable in the next few years.

Meanwhile, Lisacul’s Denis Creaton is the new 40×20 Over 35 ‘B’ All-Ireland Champion after his impressive win over Cork’s Jamie O’Donnell in the same venue last Friday.

After the initial nerves settled, Denis started finishing the ball with regularity and was never in any real danger winning 21-11, 21-8.
