Roscommon Golf Club

The bravest souls in the club this week were the Senior Ladies, as their competition was the only competition to survive the bad weather. The winner was Mary Lalor with Nuala Costello in second place, Sandra Kelly was third and in fourth place was Mary Jo O’Riordan.

  The turkey 9-hole competition is on all week and can be played for on Sunday also. Next weekend is the final weekend for the winter league.

Castlerea Golf Club

Kieran Rosney won the 14-hole competition with 30 points, with Eugene Flanagan in second place on 28 points.

  The elected officers for 2016 are-Captain: Greg Kelly, Lady Captain: Mary Kenny, President: Tommy Dolan, Vice Captains: Pat O’Connor and Evelyn Curley, Chairman of Parent Committee: Pat O’Connor, Secretary: Pyers O’Connor Nash and Treasurer: John Mulligan.

Boyle Golf Club

The monthly draw for November took place in the clubhouse last Sunday. Congratulations to the winners Seamus and Marie Gallagher (€70), and runners up Paddy Nangle and Moira/Vincent Egan (€40) each. Presentation of prizes was also held for all recent competitions. Well done to the prizewinners concerned.

  Competitions this week include the weekly Winter Open (Monday-Saturday) and a turkey voucher next Sunday.

  A date for your diary is the Christmas Bonanza on Sunday, 13th December where there will be a prize for all competitors.

  The annual handicap review took place last Sunday. Updates to handicaps will be posted in due course.

  The interclub cups and shields draw took place in Claremorris last Tuesday night. This meeting saw the election of Jim Mooney to the Provincial Council for 2016. A summary of the draw regarding the relevant competitions will appear on our website this week.
