Roscommon Golf Club   Men’s: Following a bad week weatherwise, we finally got back to playing golf on a beautiful St Patrick’s Day. The competition, an 18 hole singles stableford, sponsored by John Keane & Sons, Roscommon was won by Dan O’Brien with a score of 39 points. In second place was Seamus Mulryan with 38 points and Tom Higgins took third place with 37 points. The winner of the gross prize with 33 points was Ken Kearney, playing off scratch. This was the biggest entry for a competition so far this year and the prize giving took place in the clubhouse afterwards, where a large attendance was much appreciated by the Captain and sponsor.    Members have reacted greatly to the catering and bar service being provided this year, so it is hoped that this increase in members and friends using the clubhouse facilities will continue.   On Easter Sunday there will be an 18 hole stroke competition, sponsored by McGuinness Pharmacy, Main Street, Roscommon and on Easter Monday there will be an 18 hole stableford competition, for men and women, sponsored by Roscommon Furniture.
