Go undercover at Roscommon Farmers’ Market!

You can now go undercover at Roscommon Farmers’ Market and taste a range of seasonal local produce every Friday morning. If you haven’t been to the market for a while, you’ll see that it has had quite a re-vamp over the past few months and is now under cover, although it is still in the same spot beside Gleeson’s Town House at the back of the Tourist Information Office and Museum, just off the main town square.  The cover means both shoppers and stallholders won’t get wet when its raining and they won’t get blown sideways when there’s a wind blowing, offering a much more welcoming shopping environment. Roscommon Farmers’ Market is every Friday from 10 am until 2 pm. The market provides an outlet for local growers and producers to sell their goods direct to the public. There is no huge carbon footprint for most of the items available at the market – fresh fish comes directly from Donegal, organic meat from around the North West region, bread, pies and baked goods from Roscommon town, local salads (picked fresh that morning) and kitchen herbs from nearby Ballaghaderreen, organic free range eggs from County Leitrim, delicious home made jam and marmalade made in the county, Irish fruit juices, plus locally-produced honey. A warm welcome awaits at the Farmers’ Market. Admission is free and there is ample free parking close by. We look forward to seeing you there!
