Last Saturday saw the official opening of Glenn Reid Car Sales in Ballymoe. The man behind the venture is Glenn Reid and while this is Glenn’s first venture into the world of self-employment, he has extensive experience in the motor trade business in Dublin, Galway, Mullingar and Roscommon, which will stand him in good stead in the new Ballymoe enterprise. In Dublin he worked with a Peugeot dealer and later, in Mullingar he worked in a Volkswagen and Audi dealership. He went on to become Sales Manager with Western Motors in Galway before transferring to Roscommon where he worked as Sales Manager with Toyota in Roscommon. We suspect that the western progress of Glenn’s career to date has something to do with the fact that his wife Miriam Keegan is a member of a well-respected local family from Kilcroan, Ballymoe. The couple has been living in Ballymoe since 2003 and Miriam works as a secondary school teacher in Ballymahon, Co. Longford. A range of models from 1999 to 2005 are currently available at Glenn Reid Car Sales. ‘We have everything from the compact to the executive, from a Renault Clio or Honda Civic, to a Mini Cooper or Mercedes E220,’ said Glenn. The business is located on the Castlerea side of Ballymoe village, between the main street and the bridge on the Castlerea road. Already, Glenn is looking forward to the challenge of building the business in coming years. Small cars are proving particularly popular at the moment. ‘At the minute we can’t get enough small cars, 2002 and 2003 cars are very popular at the moment.’ Apart from the cars in stock, Glenn also specialises in sourcing cars, both new and used, for clients, so if you’re in the market for a car, why not give Glenn a call on (094) 96 55455 or (087) 2771543.
