Glenamaddy Players are gearing up for their upcoming performance of ‘PLAY ON!’ by Rick Abbott – a hilarious comedy play with a cast of ten actors.
The story follows a community theatre that is about to produce a show called ‘Murder Most Foul’ – a new murder mystery play with the same title as an Agatha Christie novel, but with no relation to it whatsoever. The director/theatre manager Gerry thought producing the play was a good idea, since the inexperienced playwright has agreed to let the company perform the show for no charge. Gerry, however, had no idea what disasters awaited her!
The show is hilariously amateur. The ‘murder mystery’ plot doesn’t really have a murder, and to top it off, the playwright keeps changing the story and script only two days from its premiere! All of the disasters come to fruition in Act III, when the company performs the actual show with hilarious mishaps at every turn.
‘PLAY ON!’ is a hilarious love letter to community theatre. A great night’s entertainment is in store, and it is certainly not to be missed.
You’ll have a laugh-a-minute when Glenamaddy Players perform ‘PLAY ON!’ (directed by Nigel Cassidy) on October 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 9th, and 10th. Shows commence nightly at 8 pm at Glenamaddy Town Hall Theatre.
Online booking opens Friday, September 18th, via Eventbrite. For more, see Glenamaddy Players’ Facebook and Instagram pages. If you have any issues, please contact the booking phone number – 086 2045896.
