Glenamaddy Players with their award winning play, Rabbit Hole by David Lindsay-Abaire, narrowly missed out on winning the All-Ireland Confined Drama Finals in Doonbeg Co. Clare recently.
With a huge group of local support present on the night the excitement was palpable. As well as finishing second overall the group picked up three awards along with several nominations for both production and acting. Anna Flaherty won best supporting actress, Declan Walsh best lighting and David Burke won best stage management. The group also received the following nominations; Coman Keaveny for best producer, Tina Ward for best actress, Marie Coneran for best supporting actress, Patrick Coneran for a scholarship to Stageworks Summer School and the group was also nominated for Best Presentation.
There were nine plays in the competition with plays of a very high standard and as a result the Glenamaddy Players can be very pleased with their second place finish. The group say they are delighted with the success that was achieved this year and are very thankful to all the support they received on the circuit and at the finals.
