Award-winning townhouse Gleesons in Roscommon Town has been nominated in four separate categories in the prestigious Irish Restaurant Awards 2023.
This is a significant achievement for the family owned business situated on the square in Roscommon Town. The Connaught Regional Awards will be held on Tuesday 28th March in the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Sligo.
Gleesons has been nominated in the following categories:
- Best Casual Dining
- Best Customer Service
- Best Restaurant
- Best Hotel & Guesthouse Restaurant
The Irish Restaurant Awards process begins with an online public vote followed by the judging process by national experts leading to regional awards in the four provinces and culminating in the All-Ireland Irish Restaurant Awards in May 2023.
Paul Lenehan, President of the Restaurants Association of Ireland said, “The aim of the Irish Restaurant Awards is to recognise excellence within the Irish hospitality industry. These awards are a celebration and acknowledgement of the hard work put in by restaurateurs and hospitality businesses and their talented staff year-round.”

Gleesons has consistently flown the flag for Roscommon within the hospitality industry maintaining consistently high quality standards. They are recognised nationally with McKenna’s Guide awards and Georgina Campbell Irish Food and Hospitality Awards for both Breakfasts and Outdoor Dining with the popular heated bench seats, Gleesons have also won several Trip Advisor Travellers Choice Awards putting them in the top 10% of hotels worldwide.
The business was set up by Eamonn and Mary Gleeson and is now managed by their daughter Cáit.
