How far are you prepared to go for this year’s People in Need in Roscommon? Sheep racing has already taken place in Derrane, but jumble sales are planned for Castlerea, council staff are having a coffee morning and other events include swimathons, head shaves, and Halloween parties. The sheep racing event took place in Derrane Resource Centre on Wednesday last, September 26 th . Other events that are taking place throughout the country include St. Mary’s National School in Ballinagare who are creating ‘The Largest Picture’ with all of the children in the school on Wednesday 26th, St. Michael’s Special School are creating ‘A Rainbow Attack’, Enfield National School in Castlerea are doing a fancy dress jumble sale also on Wednesday, 26th September. The Community and Enterprise section in Roscommon County Council are holding a coffee morning and there are lots of other events taking places, from swimathons, to head shaves, non uniform days to Halloween parties! So the question now is how far will you go for People in Need, and your local community?
