Get involved in pension reform – Finneran

Have your say on pension reform at a seminar to be held in Sligo on March 6th. The consultation seminar is one of five to be held nationally over the coming weeks and is designed to give people the opportunity to discuss issues involved in the pension reform process. ‘The Green Paper on Pensions was published in October last with the aim of setting out the challenges our pension system faces in the future and to seek views on a number of suggested ways in which we might proceed,’ said Deputy Michael Finneran this week. ‘I would like to urge all everyone to play their part in this process. This Green Paper is about all of us – our priorities both as individuals and as a community, how long we live, our expectations for retirement and the prospects for our children. It is of relevance to anyone with an interest in the shape of Irish society in the decades ahead.  ‘The Government is deliberately bringing this issue around the country to enable people and groups to get involved in the consultation process. The Sligo Seminar is being held in the Glasshouse Hotel on Thursday March 6th from 9.15 am to 1 pm.’
