The Gerry O’Malley Memorial Raffle draw took place at the Brideswell Pattern Festival on Sunday, 30th of July.
Chairperson of the committee Charlie Finneran welcomed everyone in attendance and thanked all the sponsors and those who sold tickets to help make the draw such a huge success. He felt it would be only fitting to remember those who purchased tickets over the last six months but who are sadly no longer with us.
Mr. Finneran thanked his own committee for all their efforts and commitment to the project and said that now that the fundraising target has been reached they would not be accepting any more sponsorship or donations.
The draw then proceeded, with prize-winners as follows – 1st prize: Carmel Francis, Ballycreggan, Kiltoom; 2nd prize: Liam Ryan, Malahide, Co. Dublin; 3rd prize: Mary Crowley, Santry, Co. Dublin; 4th prize: PJ Martin, Kiltoom; 5th prize: Brian Lyons, Taughmaconnell; 6th prize: Johnny Cox, Rooskey, Co. Roscommon; 7th prize: Liam Murphy, Malahide, Co. Dublin.
The committee would like to announce that the unveiling of the monument will now take place on Saturday, 7th of October at 3 pm and it will be performed by Brian Carty, RTE Gaelic Games Correspondent and Commentator.
