Geraghty welcomes road allocation

Cllr. Anthony Geraghty has welcomed Roscommon County Council’s road allocation for the South Roscommon area. The Fianna Fáil representative has secured funding for an overlay on the N61 at the Hill of Berries and has also secured a €50,000 investment in accident remedial measures at Moyvannion. ‘I am pleased to announce that Roscommon County Council has commissioned the N61 overlay project at the Hill of Berries. Roscommon County Council will spend €500,000 on that project and I hope that work will commence in the future,’ said Cllr. Geraghty. The Kiltoom representative welcomed funding for surface restoration work and road reconstruction work on a two-mile section of the Carrownolan/Ardmullan road in South Roscommon. ‘At last I have secured funding for surface restoration and road reconstruction for this area,’ he said. Cllr. Geraghty told Roscommon People that he has also secured funding for the provision and maintenance of the footpaths at Hodson Bay. He also thanked the council for providing two lights at Ballybay and welcomed the additional ten public lights proposed for the Athlone area in 2008.
