An Garda Síochána has a special traffic plan in place for this Easter Sunday with the Easter Parade due to begin in Roscommon town at 1 pm.
The parade will follow its traditional route, with floats assembling in the Abbeytown/Galway road area at 12.30 pm. The parade will then make its way from Abbey Street into Church Street, on to Main Street and through The Square past the reviewing stand. It will conclude in the Castle Street area.
A large attendance is expected and traffic movement along the streets outlined above will be restricted from 12.30 pm to 3 pm approximately. Appropriate diversions will be in place before, during and after the parade.
Members of the public attending the parade are requested to cooperate fully with An Garda Síochána, marshals and Civil Defence volunteers when asked to follow directions.
Those not attending the Roscommon Easter Parade are encouraged to make alternative travel arrangements.
