Gaels off the mark while Pearses rally

There were more interesting results in round four of the leagues played last weekend. Roscommon Gaels won their first game of the campaign, and in style too as they were the handsome winners against St. Croan’s at Lisnamult.

Meanwhile, St. Faithleach’s scored another notable win when they were too good for St. Brigid’s in Ballyleague.

Elsewhere, Michael Glavey’s pipped Fuerty in a high-scoring game at Mulhern Park while Pádraig Pearses staged a late rally to draw with Western Gaels. Clann na nGael had eight points to spare against Boyle.

Game of the weekend in the O’Gara Cup was the clash of Tulsk and Oran with the Tulsk men emerging victorious by two points.

High-flying Strokestown were the eight point winners against Castlerea while Elphin won the local derby against Kilmore by four points.

The next round of league games will be played without county players in three weeks’ time.
