GAA Convention postponed for a week

The annual Roscommon GAA County Board Convention has been put back by a week to the 10 th of December following the news that the outgoing treasurer, Mike Smith, has informed the county chairperson and secretary that he will not be seeking re-election to the position.   In order to allow for nominations to be made for the post of treasurer it has been decided to postpone the Annual Convention to Monday, 10th December, 2007. Nomination forms should be returned to An Runai Coisde Condae not later than Friday, 30 th of November, 2007.   The convention will be held in the Royal Hotel on Monday, 10 th December at 7 pm. There will be a contest for the positions on the Connacht Council as Mick Rock will become the new Connacht Council PRO in 2008.   The other sitting Connacht Council delegate is Brian Stenson of Castlerea St. Kevins. It is understood that Seamus Hayden, Anthony Flaherty, Enda Beirne, Brian Stenson and John McGowan will be contesting the two posts.
