VHI Roscommon cul camps forms to be returned We would ask all parents to return the VHI Roscommon cul camp forms for the various venues in both football and hurling to GAA games manager Willie Hegarty at the Roscommon county GAA board office ASAP. Great excitement at Primary schools football finals  Despite the inclement weather last Wednesday evening week there was great excitement and football on display at Dr. Hyde Park in the boys football finals with four top class games on offer. Well done to Cumann na mbunscoil on the efficient way the finals were run. Club minor football summer league to commence The Roscommon minor board are organising a club minor football league for all clubs and it will commence on Wednesday 25th June. This will give all club players football during the summer. U15 football development squad coaching session The next coaching session for the county U15 football development squad is on this Saturday June 21st in Kilbride at 10 am sharp.  U14 football development squad coaching session The first coaching session for our new U14 football development squad will take place in Kilbride on next Tuesday evening June 24th at 7 pm sharp. All players will be notified during the week by their regional co-ordinators. Last week in the last of our round robin blitz evenings the West defeated the South while the Mid got the better of the North-East to claim their third win a row.  U14 development squad hurlers took part in Connacht feile Last Saturday Roscommon had two U14 hurling development squads that took part in the Connacht hurling feile in Dangan. Details here in the coaching corner next week on how the lads got on.  Primary schools skills star challenge dates and venues The response to our new skills star challenge in both football and hurling initiative which tests the skills of players in both codes has generated great interest among all the 6th class boys and girls in the majority of primary schools. Each child is tested on 10 different skills with their strong and weak foot in football and weak side in hurling. The County final for the girls final is on Thursday evening June 19th, also at 4 pm. The hurling skills for boys and girls will take place in Dr. Hyde Park on Friday June 20th at 4 pm.   17 Roscommon U15 players for Connacht coaching academy For the third year Roscommon will have 17 U15 development squad players who are currently attending the three-day Connacht coaching residential academy which is being held in the NUIG campus in Dangan from this Wednesday June 18th to Friday June 20th. 7 hurlers and 10 footballers have being picked by the county, GAA games manager Willie Hegarty and full time coaches Peter Carney and Prionsias Killian are with the lads in Galway. Roscommon coaching and games development provided transport to Galway and polo shirts for all players.  Camogie blitz day for Tulsk primary schools Roscommon camogie development officer Michael Carroll has organised a camogie blitz days for all primary schools in the Tulsk club areas. Michael has being coaching in all schools over the past five weeks. The blitz day is on Monday June 23rd and will be held in Castleplunkett NS at 11 am. Michael held a blitz day for the Roscommon convent primary school last week.
