Unfortunately, the ‘glory-train’ for our U-11 boys and girls came to an abrupt halt in the Kilglass Gaels U-11 Tournament final last week. Final score: Clonguish 3-8 Kilbride 2-5. Once again, our thanks to the organisers of the Kilglass Gaels Tournament. To organise a tournament which runs like clockwork year after year is no mean feat and is acknowledged by all mentors and trainers as a vital part of under-age football training. Last Wednesday Kilbride travelled to Elphin for the next round of the U-14 League. A lucky touch of a Kilbride boot saw us travel home a winning side by just one goal! Final score: Kilbride 1-11 Elphin 1-8. Next match against Oran is next Friday evening at Oran pitch. The U-12 match against Elphin, proved a good game of football all round from both sides and victory went to the visitors Elphin. STROKESTOWN Our U-10 community games team overcame a gallant Croghan side last Wednesday.  They now play Drum/Clonown in the next round.   Our U-12 side had a draw and a loss against Boyle and Clann na nGael respectively. They lost to Boyle after a great tussle by 2-5 to 1-5.  Against Clan na Gael a last second equaliser denied Strokestown the victory but a draw 3-7 to 1-13, was a fitting end to a fine game.   The U-14s had a good win against Tulsk in an entertaining game in Strokestown.   ROSCOMMON GAELS   County U-14/15 Development training next Saturday at 10am in Athleague.   U-12/13 Hurling: Training takes place on Friday from 7-8:30 pm in the Hyde. HURLING FOUR ROADS Four Roads U-14 hurling team qualified for the All Ireland Feile Competition to be held in Kilkenny. The club is proud of the string of qualifications it has achieved. The qualification was earned this year by winning the Roscommon County final by seeing off St. Dominic’s by 5 points. The team also got to the semi final of the Galway championship, but was unlucky to lose to Salthill/Knocnacarra in a hard fought battle.  A big thank you goes out to Paul Fallon AI Technician for his generous donation to the club. We would also like to thank the people who made cash donations to the club. Also a thank you to the people who supported our member’s draw which took place on 10 th June.  A final note to wish the lads the best of luck and enjoy, at this age it’s about participating and enjoying the games as much as winning.
