Boyle area Fianna Fail Councillor John Cummins has welcomed funding for sewage schemes in Croghan and Keadue. Croghan sewerage scheme is to receive grant aid to the tune of €250,000. Welcoming this allocation Cllr. Cummins stated that the new sewage scheme for Croghan was a partnership venture between the Council and a local developer. When completed, this scheme will service the needs of the village of Croghan, the new housing developments, the new national School and the childcare facilities. Cllr. Cummins called on the Council to ensure that the road network and footpaths in Croghan were reinstated to a proper standard when the sewerage scheme is completed. He complimented the Tidy Towns Committee on their on-going work in the village of Croghan. Cllr. Cummins also announced that the existing sewerage facilities in Keadue are to receive a grant of €150,000 towards upgrading and modernising and this funding would bring the treatment plant up to a proper standard.
