Funding for Boyle footpaths approved

Independent Town Councillor, Francie Geelan has been informed by the Minister for the Environment, Heritage & Local Government, Mr. Dick Roche, TD that after representations by him on behalf of Boyle Town Council, that Boyle has been successful in acquiring a further allocation of funding for footpath repairs.   Boyle had received an initial grant last January of €11,550 with a further €5,775 from Roscommon County Council as matching funding. The grant now received is €26,070 with matching funding of €13,035 from Roscommon County Council. This total of €56,430 will complete the replacement of Ecoflex covered footpaths in Plunkett Avenue and Station Road, Boyle.   Funding will also be sought to carry out a similar scheme in Upper Marian Road and Hanly Avenue next year.
