Roscommon will join communities across Ireland for Culture Night 2026 on Friday, September 18th, with a wide programme of free performances, workshops, exhibitions and cultural events taking place from 4 pm until late.
The full Roscommon programme is now available and includes events in Roscommon town, Boyle, Frenchpark, Strokestown and communities throughout the county.
Among the events listed are a Culture Night public-art trail through Roscommon town, an interactive theatre workshop, music and poetry performances and a programme of activities in Boyle including children’s art, jewellery-making and heritage events.
The Office of Public Works will host a special tour exploring the history and architecture of Boyle Abbey, while the Douglas Hyde Interpretative Centre in Frenchpark will host an Open House event.
At Strokestown Park, a bilingual performance of Caoineadh Airt Uí Laoghaire will take place in the Vaulted Stables at 7 pm, followed by a traditional music concert featuring Roscommon musicians Emily Keane on flute and Emma Benson on harp at 8 pm.
Culture Night is now in its 21st year and all events taking place as part of the national programme are free, although advance booking is required for some events where capacity is limited.
