Full house at Camera Club

It was another full house for the meeting of Boyle Camera Club in King House, when professional photographer David Knight gave a talk. David’s experience of weddings (when he takes as many as 2,000 photographs for each event) and his close ups of flora and fauna (which are a feature of his familiar Willow Design greetings cards) were under the spotlight. Later, Tony’s Tips by the Club’s Technical Adviser, Tony Murphy, gave some valuable advice on composing a picture using the rule of thirds. Voting took place on the monthly motivational competition, with members’ pictures of still life and portraits ‘Making a Picture’ on display. The subject for next month’s competition is ‘Spring is in the Air’, with a deadline of March 7th. The competition is open to paid up members of the club who can submit up to three images each via info@boylecameraclub.com . Previous competition images can be viewed by following the links at www.boylecameraclub.ie . The March meeting takes place in King House on Wednesday, March 12th from 8 pm until 9.30 pm. An outdoor photo shoot is planned for Sunday, March 9th, details to follow. New members are welcome; the only requirements for membership, apart from an interest in developing photographic skills, are access to a digital camera (compact or SLR), alongside basic computer skills and an email address.
