Former school principal found not guilty of all charges

A former Roscommon Community College principal was found not guilty on all charges last week following a seven-day trial at Roscommon Circuit Court, sitting before Judge Francis Comerford in Sligo.

Frank Chambers of Carnacregg, Moylough, Co. Galway was found not guilty by the jury of eight women and four men on 26 counts of theft from Roscommon VEC and Galway Roscommon Education and Training Board.

Earlier in the trial, Judge Comerford had directed the jury to find Mr. Chambers not guilty on seven counts against him.

The jury reached a unanimous decision on Wednesday evening (16th of March) on the 26 remaining charges following two hours and 27 minutes of deliberations.
