Connaughton Auctioneers have confirmed the sale of the ECMI premises in Ballaghaderreen which was up for auction last Friday in Durkin’s in the town.
Occupying an area of 47,500 square feet, and standing on a circa 3.1 acres site, the property was offered for sale in one lot. Bidding started at €400,000 and rose to €540,000 before being withdrawn from Auction. Negotiations then commenced with the highest bidder and the premises sold for an amount believed to be close to €600,000.
Speaking to the Roscommon People, Auctioneer Ivan Connaughton stated: “We are delighted to confirm the sale. It was purchased in trust, therefore we do not know the identity of the purchaser. However, I was informed there is a strong possibility of a light industry establishing in the not too distant future. That would be good news for the town of Ballaghaderreen”.
