This week, John Earley of Property Partners Earley Roscommon is pleased to report the success of the online public auction he conducted on Thursday last, with a number of quality Roscommon properties sold under the digital hammer.
The auction highlight was the former Carniska school outside Strokestown, which sold for €186,000 after a whopping 86 online bids (it was reserved at only €75,000). The property attracted world-wide attention, with clients from Dubai, Australia, Canada, and the USA registering for the auction and using the virtual tour platform to view the interior of the property.
The second property sold on the day was a primely located, two-bedroomed, semi-detached bungalow residence, situated at 2 Oakwood retirement village, which had a reserve of €100,000. Bidding was very brisk, and the property attracted 24 bids, eventually being sold for €142,000.
Other properties sold on the day included a quality retail unit in the Stonecourt complex for €49,000 and a derelict residence on approximately 0.6 of an acre outside Ballintubber village, which sold for €15,000. Christy’s bar at Strokestown and a quality, four-bedroomed bungalow at Bumlin Strokestown beside the golf club remain for sale by private treaty and private treaty negotiations are ongoing on same.
John Earley FIPAV reported: “We experienced very strong interest in all lots pre-auction, and witnessed very competitive bidding during the various one-hour auction windows. We achieved very satisfactory prices and now require similar properties for a substantial list of disappointed underbidders.
“In particular, I have been extremely encouraged by the interest from outside of Ireland for all lots, which is as a result of our in house virtual tour viewing platform together with drone technology which we use for all properties”.
