Footballers robbed as they played match

Footballers playing a match were amongst the victims of crime in the Stroketown area in recent days.  The players’ valuables were targeted when thieves broke into the dressing room in Strokestown on Saturday.    There were a number of incidents of a criminal nature reported in the Strokestown area over the Bank Holiday weekend.    On Saturday evening last the dressingrooms at Strokestown GAA club were broken into during a game and valuables, credit cards and cash belonging to players were taken.    Then on Sunday, 1st June a white Peugeot van (registration number 98-RN-595) was taken from Church Street, Strokestown. The van has not yet been recovered. Another van parked close to where the van was stolen was also damaged on Sunday.   Gardai in Roscommon are investigating these crimes and they can be contacted on 090-6638300.
