Tribunal ‘intrusive’ Paul Healy Roscommon/South Leitrim Fianna Fail Deputy Michael Finneran has said there is an ‘over-emphasis on Taoiseach Bertie Ahern’s personal life’ on the part of the Mahon Tribunal. Adding that the Tribunal has been ‘intrusive’ and ‘over the top’, Deputy Finneran, (pictured right) said, when asked if Mr. Ahern had his full support, that he fully supports Minister Brian Cowen’s responses in the Dail this week ‘on behalf of the Fianna Fail party.’ ‘Brian Cowen has responded (to questions on the Taoiseach’s Tribunal evidence) on behalf of the party and I support what he has said. He has told the Dail that it, and we, have a job to do and all concerned should get on with it. The matter of the Taoiseach’s evidence is a matter for the Tribunal judges to decide upon.’ Asked if he fully supports the embattled Taoiseach Deputy Finneran said that he has not been reading the Tribunal scripts or attending it. ‘I am prepared to wait (for the report). It’s the job of the Tribunal (to investigate)
