Callaghan and Suffin selected
Councillor Liam Callaghan and former Boyle town councillor Keith Suffin were selected by Fine Gael to contest May’s local elections in the Boyle Municipal District at the party’s recent selection convention at The Percy French Hotel.
Local area representative Andrew Reynolds failed to secure a nomination. However, Mr. Reynolds is expected to be added to the ticket in the coming days.
More than 100 people attended last Friday night’s selection convention where Cllr. Callaghan and Mr. Suffin were chosen after securing 55 and 32 number one votes respectively, with Rooskey businessman Reynolds securing 21 votes.
