There was much sadness in the Glenamaddy area this week following the death of Martin Brennan of Boyounagh, Glenamaddy. 81-year-old Mr. Brennan was crossing the road to his car in wet and blustery weather conditions when he was struck by a van at approximately 9.50 pm on Saturday night. He was taken to Roscommon County Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The collision is now being investigated by Gardaí from Tuam Garda Station. Mr. Brennan, a retired farmer, was pre-deceased by his wife some years ago.
