‘Farmers should ensure that they dose for liver fluke’ -– Cllr. Connolly

In a recent statement, Cllr. Domnick Connolly warned local farmers of the high rates of liver fluke, and advised them to take the necessary precautions.

“I have been contacted by a number of local vets in recent weeks who have told me that liver fluke is very prevalent this year, and farmers should ensure that they dose their cattle and sheep.

“With the very wet year that we have had, the incidence of liver fluke is much more common than usual, and farmers are reminded to dose
their stock to prevent an outbreak of the disease,” Cllr. Domnick Connolly stated.
