Farmers head to Dublin for national protest

Farmers from all corners of County Roscommon will travel to Dublin this Thursday, 17th April, to take part in a national farmers and food industry protest. Roscommon IFA Chairman Bernard Donohue has welcomed the support of the agri industry against Mandelson’s effort to sell out Irish agriculture in the WTO negotiations. Mr. Donohue said IFA are providing buses to transport people to Dublin on Thursday.  Bus times are as follows:  Bus 1:  Roscommon Mart 9 am, Knockcroghery 9.10 am, Lecarrow 9.15 am, Kiltoom 9.30 am, Ganley’s Athlone 9.40 am. Bus 2:  Ballaghaderreen 8.30 am, Castlerea 8.45 am, Tulsk 9 am, Strokestown 9.15 am, Tarmonbarry 9.20 am. Mr. Donohue this week called on all farmers in the county to come out and support the IFA protest on this Thursday to give a clear message to EU Commissioner President Barroso on his visit to Dublin to stop Mandelson.
