Never heard of bebo, don’t know cyberspace from a cookie, or the difference between downloads and domains? Then get yourself along to the Melting Pot at Castle Court, Roscommon on Friday morning where all will be explained! The Melting Pot, with assistance from the Community and Enterprise department at Roscommon County Council, has started a new initiative on Friday mornings, to help dispel the fear that some people may have of the internet. To coincide with the Melting Pot’s Pension Day Specials, Martin Cooke of NBC Training will be on hand to answer any questions people may have about the internet. With everything becoming internet based, from booking a holiday to checking your bank account, it is becoming increasingly apparent that some people feel ‘left behind’. These are often members of the older community. The internet can be a great source for information, about your entitlements and your rights. It is also a great way to stay in touch with loved ones and make new friends. Many people are missing out, because of the fear of the unknown, Martin will be on hand Friday mornings from 10 am-1 pm at The Melting Pot, Castle Court, Roscommon to answer any questions that you may have and to guide you through the Internet. This service is totally free.
