Evans in frame for another year

The future of Roscommon manager John Evans is set to be resolved this week when the Kerry native is expected to be offered another year in charge at a county board meeting tonight.

After a poor championship campaign which saw them disappointingly lose out Sligo in the Connacht championship and Fermanagh in the qualifiers, pressure mounted on the former Tipperary manager, despite securing back to back league promotions in the last two years.

However it is believed that Evans reiterated his desire to stay on for another year at the very least, and the county board are expected to put his name forward in front of the meeting tonight.

It has also been mooted that there will be changes made to the backroom team, with selectors Gay Sheerin and Basil Mannion expected to step aside.
