Roscommon Fire and Emergency Services received a major boost this week with the news that they are due to avail of grant-aid amounting to €285,000 which has been sanctioned to them for the purchase of a new Emergency Tender fire appliance for its fire service. ‘The provision of this new appliance is a further indication of the Council’s commitment to the development of its fire and emergency services for the benefit of the people of Roscommon,’ stated Deputy Michael Finneran when he spoke to us during the week. ‘The Government investment in the Fire appliance follows a 2 million euro development of a new Fire Station at Circular Road Roscommon,’ concluded Deputy Finneran. The news was also welcomed by Senator Terry Leyden.
