Entertainment at JJ’s this weekend

There will be two nights of live music this weekend at JJ Harlow’s in Roscommon town. The No Showband will kick off the performances on Saturday night (24th) followed by JJ’s regulars, Hickory Wind on Sunday evening.

The No Showband is an energetic five-piece hailing from the midlands, well able for party vibes with new and old tunes. Their dynamic set-list ranges from Stevie Wonder, Waterboys, Alt J, old-time Rock and Roll and Blues to Reggae and pop tunes. They’re also jive and disco friendly! Fiddles, mandolins and banjos meet a full band sound that shows their wide range. Bring your dancing shoes on Saturday night!

Sunday will see the return of Hickory Wind to JJ Harlow’s. This is a renowned upbeat country band you can’t miss performing live. With the new addition of a double bass shared by either Bean Dolan or Dave Rohan, a combination of Alan O’Neill’s authentic and charming voice and the powerful instrumentals of Michael Byrne and Neil Fitzgibbon’s fiddle and mandolin, there’ll be no reason not to get up and dance!
