Entertainment at JJ’s

This Saturday will see The North Sea take to the stage in JJ’s for what promises to be one of the best gigs in Roscommon so far this year. Hailing from North Dublin, this five-piece have been compared to bands such as Editors, Interpol and Neutral Milk Hotel.

The band is made up of Eoin Kenny on vocals, Lee Carr on bass guitar, guitarists Shane Monaghan and Gary Mackey and Daragh Murphy on drums.

The Dubliners released their debut album, Anniversary, in June of last year to favourable reveiews. The album contains such gems as December, In Love and Decay while Roscommon is one of many stops on their current national tour.

Revellers in JJ’s this Saturday can expect musical styling which invokes memories of the 80s and 90s while Eoin Kenny’s vocals “recall the engulfing effect of nineties UK indie’s most soul-baring singers” according to the Irish Times.

So head down to JJ’s, grab a drink and allow yourself to be immersed in The North Sea.
