Cork v Westmeath (on Saturday at Pairc Ui Rinn at 7 pm) This is another huge game for Cork who were delighted that they started back into competitive football with a win against Roscommon in the last round. Westmeath have been the surprise packets of this division and they have had two great wins in a row against Armagh and Meath. However a long trip to Cork would seem to to be beyond them. Cork’s need for the two points is greater and they should prevail. Prediction: Cork Dublin v Monaghan (on Saturday at Parnell Park at 7 pm) This is an all-ticket 11,000 sell-out for the past three weeks and is the game of the weekend in the football league in any division. Dublin have been scraping through in their games to date while Monaghan have been very impressive for the most part but they only just won against Armagh in their last game. This game will be a cracker. I am sticking with my view that Monaghan are now one of the best teams in the country and are about to prove it on the first of many big stages his year. Prediction: Monaghan. Meath v Cavan (on Saturday at Pairc Tailteann at 7 pm) A local derby in which both sides will be desperate for the points. Meath were very poor against Westmeath and were very lucky to get a draw against Roscommon. However Cavan have been poor so far and they look like the worst team in the division. Meath followers will not countenance a defeat at home to Cavan and on that basis they should be good enough to win this game. Prediction: Meath.
