Cork City v Bray Wanderers Cork City return to winning way with a fine win over Bohemians with goals from John O’Flynn and hot-shot Roy O’Donovan. Eddie Gormley’s side outplayed a very poor Sligo Rovers. Sligo were a shadow of the side that shocked Cork City with a 4-1 win in the Showgrounds. Prediction: Home win Waterford United v Longford Town Waterford’s game with Shamrock Rovers was abandoned after a swaying Floodlight dramatically halted the game, adding to questions over Tolka Park’s suitability to stage league games. The Town earned a great draw against Pat Fenlon’s Derry City to end the week on a high. Prediction: Draw. First Division Wexford Youths v Athlone Town Padraig Moran scored the only goal as Limerick 37 beat his former club Athlone Town. Limerick 37 remain within five points of leaders Dundalk after the win. Moran slotted home on 32 minutes after a few chances in front of goal. The former Town player slotted past Ciaran Kelly. Wexford Youths went down to a very strong Cobh Ramblers. This result leaves Athlone Town 10 points behind Ramblers in third spot. It’s a must-win game for Michael O’Connor team but Wexford at home are hard to beat and with Town’s away record I can see only one winner. Prediction: Home win.
