Hughie Daly and Simon Thomas, Ballygar NS (pictured) were just two of the many happy participants in the 2007 Easter Parade in Roscommon town. The Parade was a tremendous success and was part of a weekend extravaganza which also saw the county town host the County Fleadh, Point to Point racing and visitors from twin town Chartrettes. On page 24 this week the Roscommon People presents coverage of the Easter Parade while on page 12 we publish results from the successful County Fleadh. In our next issue we will have extensive photographic coverage of the Fleadh. We have coverage of the point to point event – also a resounding success – on page four and a report and photographs on the annual Easter Parade in Strokestown on page nine of this week’s issue. The Roscommon People congratulates the organisers of the gala events in Roscommon and Strokestown on hosting festivities which were greatly enjoyed by large crowds. Pic: Michelle Hurson. It was a memorable weekend in the county town, with one of the most successful Easter Parades in living memory taking place and a successful County Fleadh being held.
