Ear to the Ground returns – for 31st season!

RTÉ’s popular farming and rural affairs programme, Ear to the Ground, is back for its groundbreaking 31st season on Thursday, 2nd of November at 7 pm on RTÉ One (repeated on Sundays at 1.10 pm).

In a press statement, the programme makers outline how they will continue to explore the issues, challenges and opportunities facing Irish farmers and rural dwellers.

Presenter Helen Carroll is taking a temporary break from the series but it’s a case of back to the future with former presenter Maeve Dineen joining Darragh McCullough and Ella McSweeney to navigate the ever-changing landscape of rural Ireland.

“Amongst content to look forward to this season, we ask if Ireland’s farmers are ready to establish a new political party?

“Ear to The Ground conducts a moth survey to gauge the health of our moth population. We meet a dairy farmer struggling to come to terms with a positive TB test in his herd and – from Monterey to Dunmanway – we visit a Mexican farmer living in West Cork!”
