€250k Elphin Fire Station upgrade to proceed soon – Murphy

A long-awaited €250,000 upgrade of Elphin Fire Station is set to get the go-ahead in the near future, according to Fianna Fáil Senator Eugene Murphy.

The local Senator said the upgrade had been confirmed by Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage Darragh O’Brien.

“These works are a significant investment in the north Roscommon town,” Senator Murphy said.

“The development was first announced some time back during (then) Minister Michael Finneran’s tenure but is only now coming to fruition”.

Senator Murphy acknowledged the former Minister’s commitment to the project during his time in office and also paid tribute to Roscommon Chief Fire Officer John Keane “for his continuous work to make this project a success”.

“The Minister and his Department and Roscommon County Council have delivered and I expect work will proceed in the not too distant future,” Senator Murphy concluded.
