€17,665 raised for Fr. Pat Brennan’s Brazilian mission work

The Fr Pat Brennan fundraising committee in St. John’s Parish has confirmed that €17,665 has been raised for his ongoing mission work in Brazil.

A statement from the committee this week expressed sincere gratitude to all those who helped make the recent fundraisers such a success.

“A big thank you to everybody who helped with food for our recent coffee mornings and cake sale at St. John’s Community Centre, also to all those who attended and purchased baked goods. Thanks also to those who gave private donations, sponsored items for our very successful auction, and those who purchased items on the night. We also want to thank most sincerely our auctioneer, Mr. Cathal Meares.

“Sincere thanks to the Culleen Hall committee for chairs, delph and cutlery, those who took part in our fun walk, and last but not least, to all of the ladies who worked so hard at our functions and helped to make them the marvellous success they were.

“It was great to see the large turnout on the final night of our fundraiser. This consisted of a Thanksgiving Mass, some novelty acts from St. Dominic’s Scór, light refreshments and finally the presentation to Fr. Pat Brennan. We also held a free draw for all that attended on the night with thirteen prizes donated by members of our committee.

“Through the generosity of all that contributed to all these events, we were delighted to present Fr Pat with a cheque in excess of €17,665. Thank you very much for all your support”.
