Duffy puts Ballagh’ to the sword

Ballaghaderreen travelled to Ballinasloe last Wednesday evening looking to keep their momentum going while also putting one over on their fierce rivals.

It wasn’t to be, however, as Ballinasloe continued their hoodoo over the visitors with a composed 1-0 win courtesy of a Mark Duffy header from a Liam Lynch cross in the second half.

It’s a result that could kick-start Enda Concannon’s boys’ season.

It was more disappointment for Ballagh’ and Darren Conroy and John Moran will be disappointed they couldn’t take something from a game they played well in.

For defending champions, Ballinasloe, this could signal the start of a revival. The rest of the league has been served notice!
