Two Castlerea based salons took home some big awards at the 9th Irish Hair and Beauty Awards on Sunday night in the Clayton Hotel, Galway.
Silke Hair Studio, owned by local woman Michelle Silke, was voted ‘Overall Hair Salon of the Year’ while also picking up the award for ‘Hair Salon of the Year – West’.
Another local business, ‘The Salon’, situated on St. Patrick’s Street in Castlerea, won the ‘Local Salon of the Year’ award.
Both businesses took to social media to express their delight over their respective wins.
On Sunday evening, The Salon’s owner, Sinead Lally posted on their Facebook and Instagram accounts:
“OMG!! We won!! Local Salon Of The Year!! We can’t believe it!! Thank
you so so much to everyone who supports us all the time and took their time out to vote for us. We are absolutely over the moon!! Whooooooo!! My team are incredible and I’m so blessed !!”
On Monday evening, Silke Hair Studio posted a heartfelt message of thanks by saying:
