It was always going to be tough last weekend with Connacht Cup fixtures – apologies to St. John’s Athletic for not having more faith!
This weekend should see action from across the three divisions, albeit far from a full programme of fixtures for this time of the year.
There could be some congestion at the top of the Premier Division if results go as expected, while Manor United could really steal a march on their title rivals in Division Two.
Friday, November 2nd
Raftery’s Oakland Hotel Premier Division
Kilkerrin United v Castlerea Celtic
Castlerea Celtic will need to win this one in order to keep pace with local rivals Ballymoe who will be favourites for their clash against Cloonfad on Saturday evening. This also counts as the Hoops’ game in hand over league leaders Boyle Celtic.
Prediction: Castlerea Celtic
Shiven Rovers v Ballinasloe Town
It’s still very early days but a win here will put the Town right amongst it at the top of the table. Prediction: Ballinasloe Town
At Lecarrow: St. Peter’s FC v Skyvalley Rovers
St. Peter’s will be heavy favourites here.
Prediction: St. Peter’s FC
Norio’s Takeaway Division One (8 pm)
Ballinasloe Town B v Rahara Rovers
It goes from bad to worse for Rahara and they face a difficult trip this weekend. Will be hoping to avoid defeat but hard to see anything other than a home win.
Prediction: Ballinasloe Town B
Killeen Sports Grounds Division Two (8 pm)
Castlerea Celtic B v St. Cuan’s United
The hosts are slight favourites but don’t rule out a draw.
Prediction: Castlerea Celtic B
Saturday, November 3rd
Raftery’s Oakland Hotel Premier Division (7.45 pm)
Cloonfad United v Ballymoe FC
A comfortable win for the visitors as they continue their impeccable start.
Prediction: Ballymoe FC
Moore United v Dysart FC
The hosts will be slight favourites.
Prediction: Moore United
Killeen Sports Grounds Division Two (7.45 pm)
At Shiven: Manor United v Shiven Rovers B
Should be another three points for the increasingly impressive Manor United.
Prediction: Manor United
