  The race for the Premier Division title is wide open and looks set to go right down to the wire.

  Elsewhere, there’s plenty of Connacht Cup and Shield action this Sunday.

Saturday, January 6th

The Herald Premier Division (7.45 pm)

Ballinasloe Town v St. Peter’s FC

St. Peter’s are the only unbeaten team left in the division. The Town will need to change that but stalemate looks likely.

Shiven Rovers v St. John’s Athletic

The home side will be hoping to consolidate fifth place. Prediction: Shiven Rovers

Sunday, January 7th

TP Brennan Connacht Cup Round 2 (2 pm)

Iorras Aonaithe v Roscommon United

Difficult trip to start the year.

Merville are flying in the Sligo Premier League and provided they travel will provide stern opposition.
