Dooner’s weekend predictions

Some very one-sided games across the three divisions last weekend. The top four in the Premier Division are going down to the wire with just two points separating league leaders Moore United and Ballinasloe Town in fourth place.

The Herald Premier Division

Ahascragh United v Shiven Rovers. 2 pm

Hard not to feel for Ahascragh following their heavy defeat against Ballinasloe Town last weekend. This should be closer with Shiven coming out on top.

Norio’s Takeaway Division One

Ballinasloe Town B v Cloonfad United. 11 am

Second placed Cloonfad should prevail here. They won the previous league meeting 5-2.

CP Ajax v Dunmore Town. 2 pm

Home advantage will swing this for CP Ajax.

Dysart FC v Kilkerrin United. 2 pm

The champions are still on course to go through the entire league campaign unbeaten.

Killeen Sportsgrounds Division Two

Hodson Bay Athletic v Cloonfad United B. 11 am

Hodson Bay have had a good season so far and will be hoping to finish in the top three which would set them up nicely for next season.

Ballinagare FC v Strokestown United. 2 pm

Strokestown are three games away from immortality.

Dunmore Town B v Moore United B. 2 pm

Moore have been impressive this season and will be hoping to end their campaign strongly.

Moylough ’79 v Skyvalley Rovers B. 2 pm

Skyvalley Rovers picked up their first win last weekend but they’ll find it difficult away to Moylough.

St. John’s Athletic v Skyvalley Rovers. 11 am

The home side will be looking to bounce back quickly following their heavy defeat last weekend.

Ballinasloe Town v Corrib Celtic. 2 pm

Ballinasloe will find the going tough here but if they play like they did against Ahascragh last weekend, they’ll be difficult to dislodge.

Cam Celtic v Athenry B. 2 pm

Cam have impressed in this year’s competition but this won’t be easy.
