Dom’s fall at final hurdle

St. Dominic’s’ magical run in this year’s Connacht Intermediate Football Championship came to an end in Kiltoom on Saturday when they went down by three points to Dunmore McHales after a thrilling final at Kiltoom.

The Galway champions led by a point a half-time, 1-6 to 0-8, their goal coming from a Shane McGrath penalty in the 12th minute.

Keith Doyle turned in a tremendous display of fielding for Dominic’s but it was the Galway champions that pulled five points ahead by the 59th minute.

Cian Kelly blasted home a great Dominic’s goal in injury-time but it wasn’t enough to save his side who went down in the end by 1-16 to 1-13.
